$10M “Rebuilding Lives” Campaign

For 30 years, Armagh has been a safe haven for women, with or without children, fleeing abusive relationships. We have empowered thousands of women and children to heal from the abuse and rebuild their lives free from violence.

As the only 2nd stage supportive housing program in all of Peel Region, we are always at maximum occupancy. Sadly, we now turn away more women and children than we are able to help.

The Covid-19 pandemic has made things much worse. The World Health Organization calls the urgent crisis of domestic violence a “shadow pandemic” – a pandemic of social isolation where women and children are desperate for an escape as the violence at home increases.

Armagh is growing to respond to the urgent need for safe, supportive housing in our community.

We are embarking on a $10 million expansion project that will:

• Expand our facility to a 35000 square foot safe haven for women and children

• Add purpose-built child & youth spaces; and

• Create a tranquil courtyard for reflection, healing and family gatherings.

But we can't do this alone.

Our governments – local, regional and federal have all stepped up to contribute $8.8 million. Now we need you, our generous community of supporters to help us raise the remaining $1.2 million to help these women and children not just survive the abuse, but thrive as they work to rebuild their lives free from violence.

A heartfelt thank you to Chris and Toni Taves who will be matching donations up to $250,000. Double the impact of your gift and donate today!
